2018 Diner en blanc

For the 30th anniversary on Sunday, June 3, 2018, in one of Paris' most prestigious locations, an immense Le Dîner en Blanc has brought together some 20,000 people, half of whom are from other countries, to dine at the same table.

Charlotte, "Le diner en Blanc" organization is delighted to welcome the Alliance Française of Charlotte to the worldwide family!

2018 marks the 30th anniversary of Le Dîner en Blanc de Paris! Today, Dîner en Blanc is annually held in close to 80 cities in 30 countries and has gained well close to 120,000 new friends worldwide. Each event is headed by passionate local organizers who fell in love with the concept and who wanted to bring it to their city, adding their own local flair while respecting the event's core values.

Along with Paris, New York, Hong Kong, Montreal, Sydney, Singapore, Mexico, Charlotte will proudly host its first Dîner en Blanc this year!


You must be at least 21 years old at the time of the event.
Event will be August 11th, 2018,
The secret location will be released at the last minute.

You are 18 years old or more and you are an amateur photographer? You like competing? Participate in the photography contest 2018 on the theme “My Carolina” organized by the Alliance Française de Charlotte, NC.

Send 1 or two pictures BEFORE April 30, 2018 that you think best depict your county or state in accordance with your own culture or adopted culture. Show with your photos your love of the Carolinas or how you view your Carolina. You shouls
-Have photos in JPEG, minimum 300 DPI resolution
-Be able to provide references for the camera used (manual or reflex such as Cannon, Nikon etc., or Smartphone, Android, touchpad, GoPro etc.)
-Precise if another accessory was used (tripod, flash etc.) or other data (such as aperture, shutter speed etc.) if used.

A local AFC jury appointed by the AFC will select the best pictures beginning of Mai 2018.The AFC will exhibit the work of the best contestants during the General Assembly of the AFC. The lucky candidates that are winners of the 2018 contest will receive their prices during the 2018 General Assembly or will have to contact the AFC to collect it.

FREE for all contestants that are member of one Alliance Française of Carolinas or member of one partner of the AF of Charlotte. $5 only for non-member contestants.

2018 International Film Festival

This year again the International Film Festival of the University Of North Carolina Of Charlotte, sponsored by the Alliance Française, experiences the rich world of contemporary films.

The festival and related special events are free and open to the public, and all films are subtitled. The Festival will provide from Monday March, 12 to Friday April, 6 some amazing international films. Please click here for the French Films selected to this year events. Please note that one presentation will be at the St Ann Catholic School in Myers Park.
