In January 12th, Alliance Française de Charlotte will highlight a French tradition practiced since the 14th century... the Galette des Rois!
This King's cake is usually served to celebrate the Feast of the Three Kings or Epiphany. The Galette is made of two flaky pieces of puff pastry, filled with frangipane, and typically has a small ceramic trinket baked into it called a "fève". If a person bite into or find the fève in their slice, they become King or Queen of the day!
Will you be the King or the Queen on January 12th?
