Alliance Française

The Mission of the Alliance Française of Charlotte

Alliance Française of Charlotte, founded in 1949, is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to increase appreciation for the French language and Francophone cultures worldwide and, in so doing, reinforce the Franco-American friendship.

To fulfill this mission, AFC organizes monthly cultural events in the community, offers French classes and themes workshops, funds two grants and scholarships annually. AFC is also committed to providing a place where recent arrivals from Francophone nations can make significant connections with other French speakers in Charlotte.
